Schoolwork instead of homework
- There will be no homework, there will be schoolwork. All work which is given by teachers, should be done during the flexible working time or in the individual learning time.
- Flexible working time is a time where students can choose to go to school, but they don’t have to. They can do their schoolwork there with other students and if they have any questions, they can ask teachers. It takes place in the classrooms of the classes but they are free to move for asking teachers.
- If possible, the subjects are two hours long.
- After lunch there are no main subjects, because the students can’t concentrate as well as they can do it in the morning.
- Individual learning is voluntary. It’s similar to the flexible working time but in the afternoon.
Differentiated schoolwork
- Online learning platform “level-up-system” à A program where students can choose from different subjects, different chapters and different levels of difficulty. They can earn points from tasks they do and then can level up. All finished tasks give points. When the students reach a specific amount of points, they can do a sample exam of the subjects. On the screen, each student has a bar where they can visibly see their progress. The bar changes its colour from red (beginning; no/little amount of points), to orange (decent amount of points) to green (most/all points). That way the students have the best possibility to have an overview over their progress and then can adjust their studying. They can choose individually the time to work on the tasks, but there will be a deadline for the exams. The program will cover the main subjects and foreign languages.
- Schoolwork is differentiated in two ways: the students can choose the level of the online tasks and are free in the individual time management.
- Teachers are free to give additional tasks outside of the online platform if necessary. Now the students have the possibility to hand in the finished tasks for correction and feedback.
- Additional schoolwork is also only useful in the main subjects and the foreign languages.
