ERASMUS project founds European school of the future
In early October five partner schools from Italy, Greece, Portugal, Sweden and the Netherlands were guests at our school. This meeting marked the beginning of our latest European Erasmus+ project. Over two years the schools want to meet regularly to found a European school of the future. Therefore, the students of the six countries involved will focus on dealing with school rules and the overall concepts of the different schools. The goal is to try, experience and develop a European teaching concept based on the same standards and on common European values which can be employed in all EU states.
The current stay was accompanied by a varied cultural program. It began with „Maultaschen“ (a typical Swabian dish) and cake, cooked, baked and served by the students of the 11th form of grammar school. After that, the visitors went on to a guided tour across the historic centre of Biberach, admired the church in Steinhausen and, of course, the „Ulmer Münster“, and they watched a very exciting basketball match in Ulm. Offering a cultural experience was the pedagogical approach of this first week. All the participants agreed that this was a good beginning. Our guests were very impressed by our school rules, especially by the strict ban on mobile phones. In their feedback they also underlined the cleanliness and atmosphere at our school and the students‘ motivation. Probably, a clear set of rules and a culture of appreciation will again form the basis of the school which is to be founded.
