Meeting in Sicily
• What did we do?
We went on a lot of beautiful trips around Sicily (to Milazzo, Taormina, the Vulcano Etna,..).
Our project included to create a schedule for the ‘European School of the Future’.
We also talked about the teaching methods, for example: “Do we even need a teacher?”
• What results did we achieve?
In groups we thought about eight different Jobs, which could exist in the future.
As example the “Influencer”, because we live in a time where social media is a big issue.
We created a personal schedule for everyone of these eight Jobs, which variated from Job to Job a lot because not every skill is necessary for every Job.
As example: A scientist won’t need the subjects ‘history’ or ‘spanish’.
But these taskes weren’t as easy to manage as it may sounds because we noticed that all the different countries had different opinions and priorities as we had.
It was interesting having all these different opinions, because we all came to a creative solution together, that we may not could’ve came up with alone.
• ONE Highlight
We all agreed that the trip to Etna was definitely the most amazing thing we did in Sicily. It was very interesting, on the top of the Etna (2900m) we walked around in long hoodies and pants but five hours later in Taormina it was so hot that we walked around in shorts. The temperature difference is really noticeable.
We also enjoyed the impressive view we had on the top of the Etna! It was stunning.
