C6 – Portugal
What did we do?
We had a lot of activities together which we totally enjoyed. We got a fantastic international group because we had a lot of fun. We sang, we danced, we worked on the project and we enjoyed traditional Portuguese food in Porto.
What results did we achieve?
Because we found out in earlier meetings, that sustainability is also important for a European school of the future, we had a workshop on sustainable working materials. That was the reason why we produced our own pen with wood from a wine grape.
Another workshop was focusing on the timetable. In the first step, every school / every country presented their schedule. After this we worked in teams to discuss and create a timetable for the European school of the future. The main point was to start school not as early, maybe at 8 am. Another important result was that students should have a choice between different subjects. Students like to focus on subjects, in which they are interested in. Students like to be prepared for their future challenges.
ONE Highlight
We went by bus to Lisbon. We visited the university there because we had a speech about a special study program there. Students of these program have the choice between many different subjects. They can focus on their personal interests by choosing between a range of different subjects for example lectures in literature, geography, languages, and a lot of more. After spending the morning at the university, we went to the city center of Lisbon and enjoyed the rest of the day at the sea, in the old town or by eating Pastéis de Nata.
